- [NSW, VIC] Free Accommodation for Bushfire Victims, 1-16/1 Listed via Airbnb (Booking Required)

If you’ve been displaced or are helping with relief efforts, you can book free Airbnb accommodation between 1 January 2020 and 16 January 2020.

In the aftermath of a disaster, people use Airbnb’s Open Homes Program to offer free, temporary housing to those who need it. This includes relief workers, neighbors who’ve had to evacuate and others impacted by the event.

- Free $2000 Grant for Homeowners of Bushfire Destroyed Homes @ NAB (Existing Customers)

NAB customers who have lost their homes can immediately access a $2000 grant to assist with their urgent needs such as food, clothing and temporary accommodation.

NBN today announced the installation of 12 portable satellites at evacuation centres across the NSW South Coast and the Gippsland region in Victoria. A further five satellites are expected to be set up within the next 24 hours.

Oaks Hotels is offering Australian bushfire victims a temporary ‘Home Away from Home' to assist during this national period of crisis.

- Free Step One Underwear for Bushfire Victims and Firefighters

Step One wants to Step up and help as many victims impacted by the current Bush Fires as soon as possible by supplying some new Step Ones.

We know that many people are in need of items and fresh underwear is one of them. We'd like to donate cartons of Step Ones to refuge or community centres across >affected areas.

 

Volunteer Firefighters, Firefighters and SES

- Optus Waiving Mobile Bills for Dec/Jan for Volunteer Firefighters

Optus will join Telstra in covering the costs of volunteer firefighters’ mobile services for December and January to show telcos’ appreciation for their efforts protecting communities around Australia.

- $150 Electricity/Gas Credit for Volunteer Firefighters and SES @ AGL

AGL has offered to provide financial incentive of up to $150 to volunteer firefighers and SES. Volunteers will need to call with there volunteer ID, AGL account number and go through the usual identity verification process (name, dob etc).

- Telstra Waiving December and January Mobile Bills for Volunteer Firefighters.

This new assistance package means that we will cover the cost of volunteer firefighter’s mobile phone bills over the period of December and January. We want to do this to show our thanks to firefighters for their efforts in helping keep communities safe.

Firefighter volunteers should contact Telstra on 13 22 03 when convenient to register for the free calls over December and January.

 Vodafone is offering volunteer firefighters to waives their mobile phone fees for December 2019 and January 2020.

There are many ways you can help and donate to Australian Bushfire Victims and Emergency Services. Below are a few but if you have any others please put them in the comments.

Accommodation

Offers of emergency accommodation for people displaced by the East Gippsland bushfires are being managed by the local council.

Those able to help should email feedback@egipps.vic.gov.au, with details of location, bedrooms available, facilities and return contact details.

Donations can be made to the state-funded rural fire services. Some states allow pledges to individual brigades.

Salvation Army

Vinnies is helping with bills, clothing, bedding and food through the Vinnies bushfire appeal.

Wildlife

Donations can be made through Mogo Zoo Fire Recovery or Port Macquarie Koala Hospital on GoFundMe.com, SAVEM here or the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park on GoFundMe.com.
